Birdbox is a movie that has recently came out on Netflix as a Netfilx Original Rated R, for their graphic/violent scenes. In which it cuts to scenes of the past and present times. I found the plot interesting, it is a sci-fi movie so it’s expected that you suspend belief while watching so the plot holes didn’t really matter. The main theme I assume is motherhood, in which Malorie learns to love “Boy” and “Girl” and almost sacrifices herself for them. While I feel the book portrays this better, as Malorie takes off her blindfold while on the rapids instead of going in blind. The number one question is the deaths. What causes it exactly? The presence of the cause is never seen exactly, but its existence results in death to those who see it.
I feel if the movie portrayed the characters and theme better it would be a pretty good movie, I feel they were too caught up in trying to make the movie “scary” or “suspenseful” and forgot to make it an actual movie. Although, it is very well good as the movie has 62% rotten tomatoes, and an audience score of 62% as well. Besides the point
